Beej Mantra-Meaning, Significance and its Benefits

1. Origin and Meaning:

The Beej Mantra “OM” is mentioned in some of the oldest Indian scriptures, including the Vedas, the Upanishads, and the Mundaka Upanishad. It is possible they were chanted for hundreds of years before written down in these ancient texts. From these basic and foundational sounds emerged elaborate and more complex ones, like the Gayatri Mantra. The beej means ‘seed’ has to sprout and has to grow. So, the first step is to say the beej mantra and then to say different mantras of the different chakras. So first is the beej and then is the tree. So, you can implant a beej into yourself by saying that, and then you start saying all other Mantras. So, that’s how you make it grow. Beej Mantras are an integral part of Hindu spiritual practices and are believed to help one achieve spiritual growth and enlightenment. When you recite it with honest intention, the powerful Beej Mantras can help you achieve your goals. When chanting, it is important to maintain a calm state of mind and then chanting the Beej Mantra with full attention. The Mantra completes its cycle by beginning with OM and ending with OM.
